Average Customer Rating:Comment: Great Player Rating:
Today I went to Bose in Pioneer Place and try the DVD player. I was watching Star Wars Episode 1 and the pictures worked good. This player also supports audio CDs and MP3 CDs. But I don't know if it supports CD-Rs and CD-RWs. I also liked the OSD display on the screen. The employee told me if I want to resume the movie, I have to press stop or pause on the remote and not pressing the power button on the player, or else I will have to start the movie all over again. If I don't press any buttons, then the player will shut down by itself, and if you press the power, then the play button, it will resume the movie you are playing. The price is a little bit high. But I maybe buying it during the summer or at the end of the summer. Because I have a summer job. And I'm 16 years old. This player takes a few seconds to load any discs. And I will buy 2 Mary Kate and Ashley DVDs after I got the player.
Comment: Great value Rating:
This unit has been harshly judged on some of the other electronics web sites. I have used the player for about a week now. The sound quality is first rate using the Burr Brown DAC. I am also satisifed with the progressive scan video quality. I just have not expereinced the problems that others have mentioned. The only weakness was in the area of jpg playback. For under 200 dollars this player is great value.
Comment: Onkyo DVCP701 refurbished Rating:
I bought the refurbished player with 1 year warranty for $99.
The picture is wonderful and sound blows you away. This player will also play DVD+RW (not mentioned in specs) and my SVCD movies.
