[Probative] Spring Break, i.e., TLR marathon.: I finally picked up Fox's JR Clark Biography, The Public Years, which I am saving for the summer, and Sarah Barringer Gordon's The Mormon Question, which I am reading now. The Mormon Question takes an interdisciplinary approach to the legal, religious, and historical questions surrounding the conflict between Utah and the Federal Government over polygamy. Being able to simultaneously apply what little constitutional law I have learned, with my understanding of Mormonism and Mormon history, is really intellectually invigorating for me. I think the book has some relevance to the issues of gay marriage, FLDS polygamy, and the Free State Project as well.
[Texfiles.blogspot.com] chris murray's tex files: Black bowler hat of Lucky, giving his oration on the state of mankind, Samuel Beckett's *Waiting for Godot*. John Phillips's 1969 dove gray fedora/wild feather. Bob Dylan's mystery lover's Panama Hat. Bob Creeley's Black Mountain Felt Boater Hat.
[Texfiles.blogspot.com] chris murray's tex files: Dali's High-heel Shoe Hat. Harry K Stammer's en-blog LAPD Hat & aluminum baseball cap, cap'n caps, NY-Yankees caps, the HKS-in-person-caps are blue or green no logos nor captions. Ma Skanky Possum 10's nighttime cap. & moose antler hat.
[Baddaystudio.com] Gravity Lens Weblog: The old serials were visionary, while the Sam Jones movie was just crap. The Filmation cartoon really caught the spirit of the original story, unlike the awful 1990's slacker update. Flash also fought alongside Mandrake and The Phantom in Defenders of the Earth. Here's Tony LoBue's excellent fan site, the history of Flash at the Holloway Pages, the Flash Gordon Comic Book Index, a gallery of Flash Gordon artists, the Ming the Merciless Visual Gallery, the Flash and Ming mini-bust set, and the obligatory bobblehead.
[Home.houston.rr.com] A Skeptical Blog: I am working with some of my colleagues from Outfoxed and Uncovered (Lisa Smithline, Jim Gilliam, and Devin Smith) to create a new media company that will continue to do films, but also much more -- we have only scratched the surface politically, creatively, and media-wise with the previous films. Rick Jacobs is helping guide us towards a company that will not be a one-shot, but will be set up to continue doing these films for years to come, to continue doing short videos for years to come, and will continue to organize around the films and work with the thousands of groups around the country that are using the films to create change. The films can throw a spotlight, create a frame, call attention -- but it is you and the hard-working people in groups and communities all over the country who will create the change.
