I continue to believe Editing is a lost art - "Jackie Brown"
[Archived in Dvd Player Problems, Entry]

„It's playing on the DVD player right now and I can see for myself that there are two key problems with the movie: Editing and direction. Not that Tarantino did bad in directing it - he did bad steering the movie where it is supposed to go. Half of it feels like it's trying to be another Reservoir Dogs and another Pulp Fiction - stylish, crude, violent...“

Some slightly related:
„Kevin Brown allowed a run in the first, but was his usual stingy self. He threw seven innings, allowed six hits and struck out five. Tom Gordon pitched a scoreless eighth, and Mariano Rivera whiffed two in a scoreless ninth.“http://www.all-baseball.com/bronxbanter/archives/ 2004_03.html - Cached - Similar Pages
„In the first two "Survivors", the black man was portrayed as lazy; this was certainly a case of editing in the second series. Nick Brown, a military officer and a Harvard Law student, was in the background most of the time, getting face time only when he got sick and was unable to work -- so he could be shown as lazy. In the third series, they broke with the burgeoning tradition by showing the black male as not lazy but a thief -- hardly an upgrade.“http://warliberal.com/mt/blog/archives/2002/ march.html#006936 - Cached - Similar Pages

„It's true: The version of DV Legacy reissued two months ago is significantly revised from the'83 edition, and the other novel Perdue claims Brown lifted from, Daughter of God, first appeared in 1985 as The Linz Testament. One of these days, Perdue's going to get it right...unless, by some fluke, he actually beats Brown in court, in which case he could always put away his typewriter and live off the other guy's royalties.“http://www.beatrice.com/archives/2004_03.html - Cached - Similar Pages

„Ya know i for one am glad Tarantino traded Crazy 88 for shotguns, texas funeral and Pai Mei. To have another 2 hours of Shaw Brothers homage would have just been absurd. Volume 2 is a much better and distinctively more Tarantino with the repeated motifs of feet, near-pretentious dialogue and attention to detail that Tarantion does so well.“http://www.pregnantbob.com/blog/ 2004_04_01_pregnantbob_archive.html - Cached - Similar Pages
