How to install Mac OS X on Intel PCs
[Archived in Entry]
[Technoogle] When I reported earlier about the leak of Mac OS X X86 DVD for Intel systems, it was unknown whether it really works on them or not.
Some related posts from Technorati and Google.
[ThinkLemon] Apple iBook. First impressions.: And I’m already so used to it, that this morning I automatically went for Command+W to close a window on my Windows machine. (I find Mac OS X more keyboard centric, despite its GUI, than Windows)
[Apple News Log] Mac OS X Intel Kernel Uses DRM: An anonymous reader submits “Several people have discovered that the new Intel kernel Apple has included with the Developer Kit DVD uses TCPA/TPM DRM. More specifically, it includes “a TCPA/Palladium implementation that uses a Infineon 1.1 chip which will prevent certain parts of the OS from working unless authorized.”
[Drmblog.org] DRM News Blog: The Open for Business source also cautioned against trying to predict too much about the future Intel-based Macs from the developer kits. Because they are developer kits only, future functionality of boot protection that prevents OS X x86 from booting on compatible non-Apple hardware, graphical interface, and other underlying technologies are emulated and do not reflect a production environment. The source emphasized that they [are not] indicative of the future production release of Mac OS X for Intel.
[Engadget.com] First “proper” Mac OS X for Intel torrent leaked? - Engadget - www ...: For only $9.95/month your small business could sound like a Fortune 500 company with a Virtual 800 toll free & local number, multiple mailboxes, call forwarding, voicemail to email and much more. We understand, your needs will change so there are no lengthy contracts or long-term obligations to sign.
[Blogs.msdn.com] Dan Crevier's Blog: The little things drive me crazy sometimes There are still a bunch of little things about Windows that drive me crazy after using a Mac for so many years. On a Mac, when a text field is given intial focus, all the text is selected and when you hit the left arrow, it puts the focus at the beginning of the text field.
[Saladwithsteve.com] Forwarding Address: OS X: I did follow the piece of advice on MacInTouch that said: "I would recommend anyone who wants to upgrade install MacOS X 10.4 on a volume which has Mac OS X 10.3 and Xcode 1.5 installed first run the uninstall-devtools.pl on the target volume to remove Xcode 1.5. This will cause an install rather than an upgrade to Xcode 2.0 under MacOS X 10.4." That seemed prudent and probably caused no visible damage.
