Darth Vader has a Blog
[Archived in Entry]
[Webfroot] Alex King decided to host a WordPress themes competition and got 137 entries! Some of them are pretty naff, but I highly recommend checking out the winners! There are some very nice themes… I especially like Fresh Bananas, so if you’re just running on the default Kubrick skin, all of these themes are available for free download
Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.
[Drhassaballa.blogspot.com] God, Faith, and a Pen: The Official Blog of Dr. Hesham A. Hassaballa: But he did defend hitting the men: "We hit the rude ones." His response reminded me of an Egyptian saying: "Al 'uthru aqbahu min ath-thamb," or "the excuse is uglier than the sin itself." There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with one's political or other views. There is something very wrong, however, with being violently disagreeable. What happened in Cairo is reprehensible, and authorities must do all they can to stop such violence, not goad it on and protect the perpetrators.
[Asmallvictory.net] a small victory: Check it out, I'm like a buzzbomb: Though we lived on Long Island, we weren't that far removed from the glamour and excitement of New York City. Even at our young ages (and I doubt there is a Long Island parent today that would be as permissive as our parents were back then) we would sometimes take the train to the city on weekends and just walk around, using our allowance money to buy records and eat burgers at the Steak and Brew, where we tried to pass ourselves off as 18 year olds to get the free pitchers of beer that came with the burgers. No matter how good it was to be 14 or 15, it seemed there was always something better on the horizon. We wanted to be 18 or 19.
[Ochsenhirt.com] A Bluegrass Blog: I won't go quite as far as the Courier-Journal did and proclaim this the best Star Wars film ever (The Empire Strikes Back is still better, though not by much), but it's certainly the best since Empire, and I thought it superior to 1977's original. As a rabid fan of all things Star Wars, it did what it had to do, and adequately explained the rise of the Empire, Anakin's descent into the Dark Side and transformation into Darth Vader, the annihilation of the Jedi (save Ben Kenobi on Tattooine and Yoda in his swamp in the Dagobah system), the separation of the twins to Bail Organa's Alderaan and Uncle Owen's Tattooine. As a fan of fun movies, it served well there also, providing nearly three hours of action and adventure. For the bulk of the movie, it was the closest in spirit to the adventure serials Lucas has always claimed to have been channeling.
[King.f2s.com] Kingys Blog: For those of you who still haven’t succumbed to the Skype phenomenon; Skype is a free internet telephony service, from computer to computer. You can also use Skype to call landlines; this’ll cost you about 1p per minute (mobiles about 14p) to call just about any phone in the world, at any time. They’ve also recently launched ‘SkypeIn’ that lets normal landline users ring your Skype account. You can download it from skype.com [affiliate link, but I’d happily endorse it without this incentive, go on click here if you dont want to reward your beloved tech informant].
[Asymptomatic.net] Asymptomatic » Blog Archive » In Defense”¦: Hmm… You have to be careful talking about something in general terms which you don’t seem to have specific knowledge. Martin Geisler wrote an incendiary post about the WordPress codebase, and while I will admit that the code isn’t perfect, it’s far from the beast that he implies lies behind the label.
